Business Intelligence Analyst (BI)

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Information System, Business, and other closely related degrees preferred.
• 3+ years of Business Intelligence experience.
• SQL experience required.
• Python experience required.
• Databricks experience a plus.
• Ability to synthesize disparate and complex sources of information and create value-added insight and perspective.
• Strong written communication skills and experience with logic documentation.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to pivot to different projects or change strategies when asked.
• Openness to critical feedback and willingness to shift perspective when needed.
  

Responsibilities:

• Development, troubleshooting and data governance within Business Intelligence solutions.
• Working closely with IT and business to understand the underlying data models, which includes understanding the relationships between key tables, attributes, measures, and logical definitions.
• Working within BI tools and Salesforce, will be creating data architecture to support reporting, as well as documenting business logics implemented.
• Create and maintain process documentation for Business Intelligence tools.
• Document dashboard logic and ensure data accuracy.
• Enhance existing data sets and/or dashboards to support optimal performance.
• Work closely with Analytics, IT Architects and Salesforce developers as an integral contributor to the data integrity that promotes a service based and centralized solution.
• Identify bugs in existing dashboards and work with other teams to implement fixes.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for BI processes.
• Test and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs.
• Develop and enhance the semantic layer of business intelligence, metadata, and report definitions.
• Troubleshoot BI reports and dashboards; performance-tune as necessary.

• Involves some decision-making authority, particularly in the development and enhancement of BI processes. Responsible for validating data, ensuring accuracy, and documenting logic within dashboards.
• Level of Autonomy:
• Demands a high level of autonomy. Expected to work independently, be a critical and creative thinker, and be able to adjust well to shifting priorities and meet competing demands.

• Impact of Decisions on the Organization:
• The decisions made have a significant impact on the organization. Accurate and efficient dashboards and reports are crucial for business insights and decision-making. Involves ensuring data accuracy and governance, which directly affects the quality of information available to the organization.
• Scope/Financial Responsibility:
• Developing and maintaining dashboards, which accounts for 25% of the responsibilities.
• Testing and documenting all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs is another key responsibility, making up 25% of the role.
• Developing and enhancing the semantic layer of business intelligence, metadata, and report definitions constitute 25% of the responsibilities.
• Troubleshooting BI reports and dashboards is another 25% of the role.
