About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Executive/Manager who is a true sales enthusiast, possesses excellent communication skills, and has hands-on experience working on platforms like Upwork. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership capabilities and the ability to manage and grow a team, while driving revenue and client acquisition strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Bidding
  • Generate leads and close deals via Upwork and similar freelance platforms.
  • Write compelling proposals tailored to client requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end bidding process, follow-ups, and negotiations.
  • Client Engagement
  • Identify potential clients and build strong long-term relationships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the sales cycle.
  • Understand client needs and consult them on appropriate digital solutions.
  • Team Handling
  • Lead and mentor a team of BDEs/BDRs.
  • Set targets, monitor performance, and ensure delivery of KPIs.
  • Conduct regular training and feedback sessions.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Monitor sales metrics and adapt tactics to meet changing demands.
  • Collaborate with marketing, project, and technical teams to support sales initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Maintain CRM records, dashboards, and weekly/monthly sales reports.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and client behavior to improve sales effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2 to 7 years of proven experience in Business Development, preferably in IT/Digital Marketing industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of Upwork platform, including bidding and client acquisition strategies.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and building client relationships.
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience in team management.
  • A true sales personality – persuasive, energetic, and target-driven.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce.
  • Prior experience in international markets (US, UK, Australia preferred).
