About the Role

Business Development Trainee

Key Responsibilities

1. Startup Identification & Ecosystem Research

  • Identify early-stage and growth-stage startups that match our service offerings.
  • Track incubators, accelerators, founder communities, pitch events, and startup platforms.
  • Understand startup needs and evaluate their fit for our incubation/support services.

2. Lead Generation & Pipeline Management

  • Generate qualified leads through LinkedIn, startup platforms, email outreach, events, and networking groups.
  • Build and manage a structured lead pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Conduct cold outreach and personalised communication with founders and decision-makers.

3. Outreach & Client Engagement

  • Create effective outreach messages, scripts, and follow-ups.
  • Schedule intro calls, demos, and meetings with potential startup clients.
  • Support BD team in presenting value propositions and service offerings.

4. Marketing & Growth Activities

  • Assist in marketing tasks such as:
  • LinkedIn posts & engagement
  • Community and group outreach
  • Content research, basic copywriting
  • Event promotions and micro-campaigns
  • Coordinate with internal teams for campaigns aimed at startup acquisition.

5. Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare weekly performance and outreach reports.
  • Track metrics: leads generated, conversations, conversions, and channel effectiveness.
  • Suggest improvements in lead-generation channels and outreach strategy.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Passion for the startup ecosystem and innovation.
  • Prior internship or freelance experience in

    BD, sales, lead generation, or marketing

    is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal.
  • Ability to research, identify, and qualify the right customer segments.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and goal-oriented.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, LinkedIn lead-gen, and cold outreach is a plus.
