They create and execute business development plans, setting objectives and outlining the steps to achieve them.
BDMs cultivate relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and generate new business.
Their primary focus is to increase sales and revenue through various initiatives, including lead generation, sales presentations, and contract negotiations.
BDMs stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
They work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.
BDMs represent the company at industry events, networking with potential clients and partners, and staying updated on industry developments.
