Role Overview:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving admissions/enrollments and expanding business opportunities for the counseling division. The role involves managing a team of counselors/telecallers, building partnerships, and creating strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets. The BDM will also act as a bridge between the counseling and management teams, ensuring smooth operations and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business growth strategies for the counseling division.
  • Lead, guide, and motivate the counseling/telecalling team to achieve enrollment targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities through student leads, institutional tie-ups, and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with schools, colleges, coaching institutes, and corporations for business expansion.
  • Monitor counseling processes, ensuring accurate course guidance and high conversion rates.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities in the education/counseling sector.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales and revenue targets.
  • Plan and oversee promotional activities like seminars, workshops, and counseling events.
  • Ensure proper follow-up with students/clients to maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and partners for long-term engagement.
  • Prepare reports on business performance, lead conversion, and revenue growth for management review.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of proven experience in sales/business development, preferably in education or counseling services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Target-driven mindset with a passion for achieving results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and digital marketing tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Business Development Manager (Counseling Division)1. Business Growth & Revenue

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly enrollment/admission targets as set by management.
  • Deliver X% increase in revenue (define target %) from counseling services within the defined period.
  • Ensure consistent lead-to-admission conversion ratio (e.g., 25–35%).

2. Lead Generation & Conversion

  • Generate a minimum of [X number] qualified leads per month through own initiatives & team efforts.
  • Ensure timely follow-up of 100% of inquiries/leads from telecallers/counselors.
  • Maintain at least [X]% counseling-to-enrollment conversion rate.

3. Team Management & Productivity

  • Train, guide, and monitor telecallers/counselors to achieve individual targets.
  • Ensure team members meet daily call volume, counseling sessions, and follow-up KPIs.
  • Conduct at least 1 weekly review meeting with the counseling team to track progress.

4. Partnerships & Networking

  • Build [X new institutional/corporate partnerships] per quarter (schools, colleges, corporates, NGOs, etc.).
  • Organize or participate in [X counseling seminars/workshops] per month for brand promotion.

5. Student/Client Satisfaction

  • Maintain 90%+ student/parent satisfaction score (through feedback forms/surveys).
  • Ensure minimal escalations or complaints related to counseling quality.

6. Reporting & Compliance

  • Submit weekly/monthly sales & performance reports to management.
  • Ensure all leads, calls, and conversions are updated in the CRM/ERP system daily.
