Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager with over 3+ years of experience in Upwork lead generation and conversion in the IT services sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, converting leads into successful projects, and managing a team of business development executives. Strong communication skills, confidence, and a results-oriented mindset are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Bidding:
  • Identify potential IT service projects on Upwork and other freelancing platforms.
  • Write customized, high-converting proposals tailored to client requirements.
  • Actively bid on relevant projects and follow up regularly.
  • Client Communication & Conversion:
  • Handle end-to-end client communications – from initial discussions to closing deals.
  • Conduct video calls, demos, and negotiations to finalise contracts.
  • Understand client requirements and coordinate with the technical team for accurate estimations.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs).
  • Set targets, track performance, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure consistent pipeline and conversion rate across the team.
  • Market Research & Strategy:
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Identify new market opportunities and suggest service expansion strategies.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
  • Maintain detailed records of leads, opportunities, and sales progress.
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to senior management.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in lead generation and conversion on Upwork in the IT services domain.
  • Strong experience in client communication, proposal writing, and deal negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Confident, goal-oriented, and persuasive personality.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a small business development or sales team.
  • Strong understanding of IT services including software development, web/mobile app development, and digital solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
