Job Description

Role Overview

The role involves strategic business planning, tendering, proposal management, and leading a team to achieve sales and business growth objectives. The individual will be responsible for identifying opportunities, building strong client relationships, and ensuring successful order conversions through technical and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Planning & Development

  • Prepare the Annual Business Development Plan for the company.
    • Drive tendering and proposal-making by leveraging both technical expertise and sales skills across a range of industrial automation products. • Lead a team to convert sales enquiries into confirmed orders through lead generation, cold calling, presentations, and strong client relationship management. • Ensure timely maintenance and updating of MIS for all new enquires and order bookings.

Key Accountabilities

A. Planning & Forecasting

  • Prepare annual sales plans and forecasts in coordination with management.
    • Plan and allocate sales targets across various business verticals and domains based on data analysis from previous data • Define individual and team sales targets with management approval. • Strategize for repeat orders and business expansion with existing customers. • Plan and achieve growth in AMC, service, electrical panels turnkey, and project segments. • Organize at least 3 customer seminars or road show per year for brand visibility and client engagement.

B. Tendering & Proposals

  • Lead and manage the entire tendering process from bid preparation to final contract negotiation.
    • Prepare techno-commercial proposals aligned with client and company objectives. • Participate in pre-bid meetings, negotiations, and contract finalization. • Provide pre-sales technical support and product education to clients. • Analyze cost structures, sales margins, and quotations to ensure competitiveness. • Manage client accounts and ensure strong after-sales support. • Coordinate with proposal team ,SCM and Projects teams for documentation, compliance, and execution aligned with approved quotes.

C. Team Handling

  • Monitor, mentor, and ensure target achievement for all team members include Proposal and front ending sales exe
    • Oversee client follow-ups and ensure timely conversions. • Support the team in resolving technical or proposal-related challenges. • Ensure adherence to the sales funneling process for consistent business growth.

D. MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and business performance updates for management review.
    • Maintain an updated customer database and ensure accurate recordkeeping. • Ensure a regularly updated price list, component list, and MIS reports are available for internal reviews.

Technical & Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Strong technical understanding of Rockwell Automation Products and design software .
  • Expertise in field instrumentation (level, pressure, control valves, safety valves).
    • Familiarity with material selection for instrumentation and detailed engineering activities. • Understanding of electrical and instrument panel design and sizing.
