Job Description

Role Purpose

Monitor suppliers to ensure they perform in line with business SLA.

Assist in the smooth onboarding of new suppliers. Conduct regular technical checks and reviews of supplier data, product and price feeds, ensuring all data is consistent and accurate.

Work closely with other departments, including the exceptions team, customer services, content team and marketplace team, and provide support where necessary. Support the wider business development team with keeping records up to date and accurate.

Role Summary:

Responsibilities include assisting the Head of Business Development and the Account Managers in managing existing supplier accounts on a day-to-day basis, maximising opportunities for growth and profitability, ensuring suppliers are delivering on time and providing quality and accurate data.

Research prospective suppliers and product categories in line with the business development strategy.

Qualify and import product data during the onboarding process of new suppliers, and ongoing for existing suppliers submitting new product data.

Support and collaborate with other departments responsible for product upload, translation, customer services and exceptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Day to day

  • Perform regular checks of existing supplier data, pricing and stock feeds ensuring they are running correctly and accurately
  • Coordinate with IT for the smooth onboarding of suppliers and on supplier projects where additional data is required
  • Liaise with suppliers and the IT department to promptly fix any technical issues relating to supplier data feeds
  • Assist in dealing with any escalations relating to 3rd party deliveries, outstanding credits and supplier issues
  • Maintain accurate and up to date supplier records
  • Monitor performance, report back and provide account health for suppliers
  • Be a credible ambassador for Pertemba at internal and external events
  • Bring creative and innovative ideas for how to undertake BD activities
  • Ensure effective communication practices are established and maintained

Account Management

  • Establish business relationships with the supplier account base, assisting with day to day interactions with these accounts in order to build long-term business opportunity
  • Maintain accounts, monitoring performance from suppliers and maintaining good working relationships
  • Present performance analysis on supplier projects to Head of BD
  • Put intervention in place for failing suppliers

New Business

  • Research and identify new suppliers, products and categories in line with the business development strategy
  • Assist the Head of Business Development and Account Managers in successfully integrating new suppliers into the business
  • Assist in the nursery process to ensure accounts are optimised at the earliest opportunity

Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5 years of previous experience of working in B2B wholesale or ecommerce
  • Ability to develop and nurture effective business relationships
  • Highly analytical, logical with strong computer skills particularly in the use of Excel
  • Able to work independently and achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organizational skills

  • Ability to drive a number of initiatives at any one time
  • Confident and professional with the ability to use your own initiative
  • Demonstrate active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented
  • Flexible, process driven and execution focused
  • Able to work autonomously to achieve business objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
