Role Description

The Business Analyst will act as a critical liaison between Private Equity clients, business stakeholders, and technology teams. The candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and translating them into technology solutions. The role demands strong domain understanding of Private Equity (PE) processes, portfolio management, investor reporting, fund administration, and deal lifecycle management. The position is offshore/remote, but the analyst will interact closely with U.S.-based and global teams

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Private Equity clients and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, investment strategies, and reporting needs.
• Document, analyze, and validate requirements related to fund structures, capital calls, distributions, deal lifecycle, portfolio monitoring, and performance reporting.
• Collaborate with technology teams (onshore and offshore) to design solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Work on data mapping, integration, and workflow automation between fund administration systems, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
• Assist in preparing business cases, functional specifications, and process improvement recommendations.
• Participate in client workshops, requirement walkthroughs, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and system implementation support.
• Develop business process documentation, dashboards, and KPIs for private equity operations and performance analytics.
• Act as a bridge between business, data, and technology teams to ensure requirements are accurately implemented.
• Support pre-sales and solutioning efforts for new opportunities in the Private Equity
• domain when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA Level 1+ preferred).
• 5–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years in Private Equity / Asset Management domain (experience with clients like KKR, Blackstone, Carlyle, etc. is highly desirable).
• Prior consulting experience with firms such as Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, or similar servicing Private Equity clients is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, fund administration, investor relations, and portfolio performance reporting.
• Experience working with Private Equity technology platforms such as eFront, Investran, Allvue, Black Mountain, iLEVEL, or similar tools.
• Experience in data analysis, SQL, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), and Excel-based financial modeling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with client-facing experience.

Critical Skills Needed

• Private Equity Domain Knowledge: Strong expertise in fund structures, investment

lifecycle, capital calls, distributions, portfolio monitoring, and IR reporting.

• Analytical & Data Skills: Ability to work with large datasets, financial models, and BI

dashboards.

• Technology Bridge: Ability to translate complex financial/business requirements into

technology solutions.

• Client-Facing Communication: Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders,

preparing presentations, and managing requirements workshops.

• PE Tools & Platforms: Hands-on knowledge of eFront, iLEVEL, Allvue, or equivalent PEspecific systems.
• Documentation: Strong ability to write BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and test

cases.

• Remote Collaboration: Comfortable working in distributed teams across geographies

and time zones.
