The BIM Information Manager is responsible for the
planning, implementation, and governance of information management processes
across projects in accordance with
ISO 19650 standards
. Acting as the custodian of the
Common Data Environment (CDE)
, the role ensures that project information is accurate, timely, secure, and fit for purpose, enabling effective collaboration, decision-making, and asset handover.Roles and Responsibilities
- Information Management & Governance
- Develop, implement, and oversee the BIM Information Management Strategy in compliance with ISO 19650.
- Establish, configure, and manage the CDE, ensuring compliance with project and organisational standards.
- Define and enforce information workflows, approval processes, status codes, naming conventions, metadata, and revision control.
- Author and manage Employers Information Requirements (EIRs) in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop, review, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) pre- and post-contract.
- Monitor supply chain BIM capability and performance, identify non-conformances, and coordinate corrective actions or training.
- Manage asset information delivery to support handover and facilities management requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Level of Information Need (LOD/LOI) and BIM maturity levels across 3D, 4D, and 5D environments.
- BIM Coordination & Model Management
- Lead BIM implementation across projects, ensuring consistency and best practice.
- Build, maintain, and update federated models; perform clash detection and issue coordination reports.
- Conduct model audits, compliance checks, and constructability reviews to identify risks and opportunities.
- Verify submitted files against agreed formats, naming conventions, and information requirements.
- Administer and maintain company standard Revit templates and shared project resources.
- Manage and control model content, ensuring adherence to BEP requirements and project standards.
- Support integration of programme (4D) and cost (5D) data into BIM workflows.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Chair and conduct BIM workshops, coordination meetings, and weekly progress reviews.
- Produce and distribute coordination reports, look-ahead plans, and performance updates.
- Record, track, and report BIM clashes, action items, responsibilities, and close-out status.
- Work closely with project leads to provide weekly progress and look-ahead reports.
- Engage with clients, senior management, and multidisciplinary teams to drive BIM best practice.
- Strategy, Training & Innovation
- Develop and maintain project BIM strategies from pre-construction through handover.
- Act as the project-based BIM point of contact, delivering BIM and digital objectives throughout the lifecycle.
- Mentor and train team members, promoting BIM awareness and capability development.
- Advise on emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation in BIM processes.
- Standards, Quality & Compliance
- Enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practices in accordance with ISO 19650 and PAS 1192.
- Evaluate project models against BEP, MIDP, and MPDT requirements.
- Manage and maintain content libraries, templates, and shared resources.
- Ensure quality assurance, document control, and information governance processes are followed.
Necessary Requirement
- Essential
- Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in BIM Information Management / BIM Coordination within multidisciplinary environments.
- Proven experience working in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) environment.
- Strong knowledge of BIM Level 2, PAS 1192, ISO 19650 standards, and certification requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk AEC Collection, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks Manage, Revit, Fuzor, and Syncro.
- Familiarity with BIMcollab, BIM Track, BIM 360, and equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of information management, data structures, naming conventions, metadata, and records management.
- Experience with asset information requirements (AIR), project information requirements (PIR), and COBie workflows (advantage).
- Competence in 4D and 5D BIM workflows to support programme and cost integration.
- Knowledge of Dynamo scripting and ESRI products (advantage).

- Hands-on experience with BIM management and coordination platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of quality assurance, document control, and information governance processes.
- Understanding of CDE workflows and information governance.
