Billing Engineer

The Billing Engineer is responsible for preparing, verifying, and processing client and subcontractor bills, ensuring accurate measurement, compliance with contract terms, and timely submission of invoices.

Key Responsibilities

Client Billing

• Prepare RA bills / running bills as per BOQ, drawings, and contract conditions.
• Ensure timely submission of client bills and follow up for certification and payments.
• Prepare final bills, variation bills, and extra item claims.

Measurement & Quantity Verification

• Take joint measurements at site with client/consultant.
• Verify quantities as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Maintain Measurement Books (MBs) and billing records.

Subcontractor Billing

• Verify subcontractor bills based on work executed and agreed rates.
• Check quantities, measurements, and deductions before certification.
• Coordinate with site engineers for work completion confirmation.

Documentation & Records

• Maintain proper billing documentation including RA bills, MBs, BOQs, and abstracts.
• Prepare reconciliation statements for materials, quantities, and costs.
• Maintain billing registers and payment trackers.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Planning, QS, Site Engineers, and Accounts departments.
• Liaise with consultants and clients for bill approval and clarifications.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure billing complies with contractual terms, GST norms, and company policies.
• Prepare monthly billing reports, cost statements, and cash flow data.
• Assist in audits and project financial reviews.

Required skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  BOQ, measurements, and billing procedures

• Proficiency in

  MS Excel, AutoCAD

  , and billing software (if applicable)
• Good understanding of

  contracts, specifications, and drawings

• Knowledge of

  GST and taxation related to construction billing

• Good coordination, communication, and documentation skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Should have knowledge of ERP Software

Education Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in

  Civil Engineering

  (preferred)
