Battery Module Engineer Electrical

Karamtara is seeking a Battery Module Engineer – Electrical to lead the design and release of battery module electrical components. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in electrical component design & validation and systems integration for battery modules.

Lead the electrical design and development of battery modules, ensuring alignment with overall system requirements and performance targets. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Intercell Busbar (ICB): Design, develop, and optimise Intercell Busbars for efficient power distribution and connectivity within battery packs.
• Bussing Systems: Engineer and manage robust bussing systems to ensure reliable electrical connections and efficient power flow.
• Component Design and Release: Design, development, and release of electrical components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
• Systems Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical components into the overall battery energy storage system, ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Component Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of electrical components to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all electrical components comply with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO, BIS, UL, CE and IEC.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical components and systems to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of designs, tests, and processes to support product development, certification, and manufacturing.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in design, materials, and processes to enhance component performance and reduce costs.
• Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of electrical components, managing technical specifications and requirements.

Requirements:

• B.E. / B. Tech / M.E. / M. Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding on Intercell Busbars (ICB) and their application in battery systems.
• Proficiency in designing and managing bussing systems for efficient power distribution.
• Experience in the design release process, including component design, testing, validation, and documentation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for electrical components in energy storage systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
