We’re a fast-growing FinOps startup on a mission to transform cloud cost management through automation, AI agents, and actionable insights. Our platform helps engineering, finance, and DevOps teams reduce waste, optimize cloud spend, and gain financial control across AWS, Azure, GCP, SaaS tools, and AI workloads.

Role

We’re looking for a Backend SDE-2 to own the design, development, and scalability of our core backend services. You’ll be responsible for building highly reliable, efficient, and maintainable systems, driving backend architecture decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. You’ll collaborate closely with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, performant, and scalable cloud-native solutions.

Experience Level: 3–5 years

Key Responsibilities

Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services and APIs.
Develop scalable, high-performance microservices for cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Design data models and optimize queries for large-scale, multi-tenant systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; implement unit, integration, and system-level tests.
Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines and automated testing coverage.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and reliability issues.
Mentor SDE-1 and junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices.
Contribute to system architecture discussions, cloud cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-mortems for production issues.

Requirements

3-5 years of hands-on backend development experience.
Strong programming skills in Python, Go, with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Experience with microservices architecture, REST/GraphQL APIs, and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and query optimization.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficient in CI/CD workflows (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, and best practices in software engineering.
Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and system-level thinking.
Strong collaboration and mentorship skills.

Nice to Have
