We are seeking an experienced AEM Backend Developer to join our dynamic digital platforms team at Kanerika Inc. The ideal candidate will possess strong backend development skills primarily in Java, with additional proficiency in Python. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, maintainable Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions that support our clients’ digital content strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, content authors, and system administrators to implement robust backend logic, custom workflows, integrations, and content management features.Qualifications
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent work experience. Proven experience in delivering high-quality web applications, especially within the AEM environment, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of backend development principles, along with hands-on experience in Java and Python programming. Familiarity with AEM architecture, including dispatcher, replication agents, and workflows, is required. Additionally, experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON/XML data handling, and version control systems such as Git is necessary. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools like Maven and Jenkins will be advantageous.Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this role include designing, developing, and maintaining AEM-based backend solutions, components, and templates that meet client requirements. You will develop custom AEM Sling models, servlets, services, and OSGi components to facilitate content management and delivery. Building and integrating RESTful services and APIs to support frontend applications and third-party systems will be a core part of your duties. Collaborating with frontend developers and content authors to ensure seamless dynamic content delivery is vital.Automation is a significant aspect of this role; hence, developing scripts using Java or Python for data handling, deployment automation, and reporting is expected. Implementing AEM workflows, managing user permissions, and controlling versioning for content are critical tasks to ensure efficient content lifecycle management. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within AEM environments will also be part of your responsibilities, along with optimizing system performance, scalability, and security configurations to meet high standards of reliability and security.Benefits
