Back Office Drive Test Support – FCC 5G Program

REPORTS TO: War Room Coordinator / Project Manager

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3-4 Years (Mandatory)

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Back Office Drive Test Support team provides critical operational, analytical, and quality assurance functions for all drive-test activities. This role ensures log validity, grid compliance, routing accuracy, and daily completeness using TEMS/Actix and FCC methodology. The team acts as the backbone of field operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Pre‑Drive Preparation

• Receive daily grid lists, routes, and assignments.

• Validate tester readiness via mandatory pre-drive checklists.

• Verify:

 – Phone connectivity

 – Scanner detection

 – GNSS lock

 – Correct test scripts

 – Equipment mounting photos

• Provide navigation support with KML/Google Earth tools.

B. Coordination with Testers

• Track tester check-ins, shift starts, delays, and deviations.

• Communicate route corrections or re-drive instructions.

• Assist testers with script issues, logging failures, GPS drift, or configuration errors.

C. Log Validation & Quality Control

• Validate Stationary + Mobile + Scanner logs for each grid.

• Ensure:

 – Correct centroid placement

 – Mobile test starting within correct grid

 – Proper signal records (RSRP, SINR, PCI)

 – Files not corrupted or incomplete

• Use Actix/TEMS Cloud to confirm:

 – Drive path

 – Timing

 – Log completeness

 – Measurement accuracy

D. FCC Methodology Enforcement

• Validate 500m FCC grid rules.

• Identify proxy grids for non-drivable areas.

• Confirm correct movement direction for mobile test.

• Ensure logs align with Clients MSOW rules.

E. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily:

 – Grid completion reports

 – Incomplete grid lists

 – Re-drive maps

 – Tester performance reports

• Maintain Drive Test Tracker and issue logs.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

A. Technical Skills

• Understanding of 4G/5G RF basics (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR).

• TEMS / TEMS Cloud / Paragon experience.

• Actix Analyzer intermediate skills.

• Familiarity with UE, scanner setup, GNSS behavior.

• Ability to evaluate and validate drive routes.

B. Soft Skills

• Good English writing & communication.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to coordinate with large field teams.

• Analytical, structured, disciplined approach.

C. EXPERIENCE

• 3-4 years in drive testing / log analysis / RF operations.

• Prior experience with any operator/vendor preferred.

D. EDUCATION

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Telecom/IT/ECE preferred.
