🚀 Senior Backend Engineer (Python | Microservices | Cloud) We’re on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to drive the design and development of scalable, cloud-native backend systems. In this individual contributor (IC) role, you will be responsible for crafting high-performance services and robust APIs that power enterprise-level platforms. You’ll work collaboratively with product managers, DevOps specialists, and engineering peers to deliver production-ready backend solutions. 🛠️ Key Responsibilities Architect and develop microservices using Python and modern cloud-native tools to support large-scale distributed systems. Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs , asynchronous jobs, task schedulers, and high-throughput data pipelines. Lead proof-of-concept projects , technical design sessions, and system architecture reviews. Optimize relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and ClickHouse . Build resilient and highly available services with robust logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like Datadog, Grafana, and CloudWatch . Collaborate on CI/CD automation and infrastructure using Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins . Ensure all systems are designed for scalability, security, and fault-tolerance . Maintain thorough documentation including architecture diagrams, system processes , and team knowledge sharing. Own the entire lifecycle of services — from design and deployment to live debugging and iteration. ✅ What We’re Looking For 10+ years of experience in backend software development, with deep proficiency in Python. Solid experience in building microservice architectures and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes . In-depth knowledge of API design , including security protocols such as OAuth2 , rate limiting, and best practices. Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS . Strong command of both SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling. Comfortable working with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment . Bonus: Exposure to AI/ML integrations , ticketing platforms (e.g., Zendesk), or chat systems (e.g., Openfire). 🎓 Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related discipline Certifications in Cloud Architecture or System Design Previous involvement in enterprise-scale digital transformation or major backend re-architecture projects Show more Show less
