Job Description

Backend Developer

Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
  • Work with

    MongoDB / NoSQL databases

    for scalable backend development
  • Integrate authentication, role-based access, and data security best practices
  • Implement real-time updates and push notifications (Firebase or MongoDB change streams)
  • Collaborate with frontend and mobile developers to integrate APIs smoothly
  • Optimize backend performance, debugging, and troubleshooting issues
  • Document backend services and deployment processes

Must-Have Skills

  • Proficiency in

    Node.js & Express.js

  • Experience with

    MongoDB (NoSQL database)

  • Understanding of RESTful API design principles
  • Knowledge of authentication & session management (JWT, OAuth, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of Git and version control workflows
  • Project experience (college, freelance, or professional) demonstrating backend/API development

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with

    Firebase

    for push notifications & auto-refresh
  • Exposure to

    cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)

  • Understanding of

    Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or server deployment

  • Knowledge of performance optimization and database indexing
