Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implementation of automation systems for

  water treatment plants (WTPs), sewage treatment plants (STPs), pumping stations, and storm water systems

  .
• Integrate

  flow meters, level sensors, pressure transmitters, rain gauges, and telemetry units

  into water and sewerage networks.
• Develop control logic for

  pumping operations, WTPs, STPs, Valve controls

  , and flood gate systems using

  PLCs, RTUs

  , or

  microcontroller-based systems

  .
• Maintaining

  SCADA systems

  for centralized monitoring and control of water infrastructure assets.
• Support

  to T-based remote monitoring

  for distributed infrastructure such as ESRs, GSRs, overhead tanks, sewer manholes, and flood channels.
• Interface automation systems with

  BMS, GIS, or digital twin platforms

  .
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure integration of automation systems during planning and execution stages.
• Prepare documentation: control philosophy, I/O lists, loop diagrams, O&M manuals, commissioning reports.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems on-site.
• Stay updated with best practices, standards and innovations in water sector automation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Instrumentation /Automation / Electronics / Electrical /Mechanical Engineering with above knowledge
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in automation and control systems for water, wastewater, or environmental infrastructure.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, etc.) and SCADA/HMI systems.
• Strong knowledge of field instrumentation (flow/level/pressure sensors, actuators, VFDs, telemetry).
• Familiarity with assets such as WTPs, STPs, DMAs, pumping stations, storm water drains, etc.
• Basic understanding of civil and hydraulic systems in water and sewerage networks.
• Good documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
