Job Description – Draftsman (Architecture) Position Title: Draftsman – Architecture Department: Architecture / Design Location: Lucknow Reporting To: ………….. Role Overview The Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings, layouts, and technical designs under the guidance of architects. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD and other drafting software to convert concepts into working drawings for construction and execution. Key Responsibilities Prepare 2D and 3D drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and detailed working drawings. Convert conceptual sketches and designs provided by architects into accurate technical drawings. Assist architects in preparing presentation drawings and models when required. Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and project specifications. Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and site teams to incorporate structural, electrical, and mechanical details. Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation systematically. Prepare BOQs, material specifications, and as-built drawings if required. Support project teams during site visits by updating drawings and resolving discrepancies. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant drafting/design software. Strong knowledge of architectural standards, detailing, and construction methods. Ability to interpret and convert design concepts into working drawings. Good visualization skills with attention to accuracy and detailing. Time management skills to meet deadlines effectively. Team player with good communication and coordination abilities. Qualification & Experience Diploma / ITI in Civil / Architecture Drafting OR Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (preferred). 1–5 years of relevant experience as Draftsman in an architectural/consulting firm.
