Job Description: Assortment Lead

Job Location: Kuwait

Reports To: Quick Commerce Head / COO

Role Summary

The Replenishment Lead is responsible for designing and executing a dynamic assortment strategy for quick commerce across FMCG, Fresh, and Non-FMCG categories. This role ensures SKU relevance, high product availability, and alignment with customer demand to drive sales and enhance customer experience. The Replenishment Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory, streamline replenishment processes, and maintain a competitive edge in the quick commerce market.

Key Responsibilities

Assortment Strategy: Develop and implement short-term and long-term assortment strategies aligned with customer demand and business objectives.

SKU Portfolio Management: Collaborate with suppliers, buyers, and category managers to finalize and optimize the SKU portfolio.

Replenishment Logic: Implement and monitor Minimum Base Quantity (MBQ) and replenishment logic in the inventory system to ensure seamless stock availability.

Performance Monitoring: Analyze daily product performance metrics, including sales velocity, returns, and Out-of-Stock (OOS) incidents.

Competitor Benchmarking: Conduct regular competitor analysis to ensure competitive pricing and assortment relevance.

Customer Alignment: Align assortment with app categorization and search functionality to enhance customer discoverability.

Promotional Collaboration: Work with the marketing team to curate promotional assortments that drive sales and engagement.

New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the NPI process to introduce high-potential products effectively.

SKU Rationalization: Identify and eliminate slow-moving or non-moving SKUs to optimize inventory efficiency.

Planogram Alignment: Ensure assortment aligns with planograms for consistent in-app and physical presentation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Assortment Availability: Maintain ≥ 97% availability across all categories.

Customer App NPS: Achieve ≥ 8/10 for product variety satisfaction.

Top SKU Contribution: Ensure Top 100 SKUs contribute ≥ 60% of total sales.

Out-of-Stock (OOS) Rate: Keep OOS % ≤ 2%.

● Expertise in category management and assortment planning.

● Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

● Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.

● Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

● Proficiency in inventory management systems and tools.

● Customer-centric mindset with a focus on enhancing user experience.

Experience & Education

Experience: 7–10 years in merchandising or category management, preferably in FMCG or e-commerce sectors.

Education: MBA or equivalent degree from a reputed institute preferred.

Work Environment

● Fast-paced quick commerce setting requiring agility and quick decision-making.

● Collaboration with suppliers, buyers, marketing, and operations teams.

● May involve periodic travel for supplier meetings or market research.
