Associate ERP Functional Consultant

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in understanding client business processes, pain points, and requirements with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Support functional consultants in process mapping, requirement gathering, and documentation by actively contributing insights and analysis.
• Configure and support ERP modules (e.g., Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Finance, Manufacturing, HR) under guidance, with the ability to understand standard ERP workflows.
• Help in preparing training materials, user manuals, and process documentation based on implemented solutions.
• Support system testing, data migration, and user training activities to ensure smooth go-live and adoption.
• Assist in analyzing and documenting gaps between standard ERP functionalities and client-specific requirements, and help propose feasible functional solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical team, project managers, and clients) to ensure smooth implementation and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot basic functional issues and provide user support by applying ERP knowledge and logical analysis under the guidance of senior consultants.

Key Skills Required

• Basic understanding of business processes in areas like sales, purchase, inventory, finance, or manufacturing.
• Strong interest in ERP systems, business analysis, and process optimization, with demonstrated effort to build ERP-related knowledge.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• High keenness and eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously upskill in ERP and related tools (mandatory).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Good-to-have working knowledge of Python and/or SQL for data analysis, reporting, or integrations.
• Exposure to any ERP system like ERPNext, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc., is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Commerce, Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong interest in ERP consulting, functional analysis, and digital transformation projects, with basic conceptual clarity of ERP implementations.

Nice to Have

• Professional background in Accounts / Finance / Commerce is highly preferred.
• Exposure to Manufacturing domain processes (such as BOM, production planning, inventory flows, costing, etc.) will be an added advantage.
• Prior hands-on experience or academic exposure to ERPNext is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with accounting concepts like GL, AP, AR, taxation, and financial reporting is beneficial.
