Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor in the Department of Mathematics at VCEH located in Hyderabad. The role involves teaching, communication, education, mathematics, and working with students on a daily basis.

1. Assistant Professor (Mathematics)

Essential Qualifications:

a)     Master’s Degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Statistics (with first class or equivalent).

b)     NET/SET qualification (UGC/CSIR) is mandatory OR Ph.D. in Mathematics/Statistics as per UGC regulations.

Desirable:

a)     Ph.D. in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Statistics from a reputed university/institute.

b)     Specialization in areas relevant to engineering applications (e.g., Numerical Methods, Operations Research, Probability & Statistics, Mathematical Modeling, Data Analytics).

c)     Proficiency in teaching undergraduate engineering students.

d)     Research publications in refereed journals (Scopus/Web of Science).

e)     Experience with modern teaching tools, ICT-enabled learning, and outcome-based education (OBE).

Other Expectations:

a)     Student mentoring, participation in academic committees, and contribution to departmental activities.

b)     Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research.

2. Associate Professor (Mathematics)

Essential Qualifications:

a)     Ph.D. in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Statistics.

b)     Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent).

8 years of teaching/research experience

Research & Professional Requirements:

a)     Minimum of 7–10 high-quality publications in refereed/SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.

b)     A minimum API/Research Score as per UGC guidelines.

c)     Successful guidance of at least one Ph.D. scholar (preferred).

d)     Proven ability to attract research funding or projects (DST, SERB, UGC, AICTE, etc.).

Other Expectations:

a)     Strong commitment to curriculum development, pedagogical innovations, and mentoring junior faculty.

b)     Participation in NBA/NAAC/OBE-related academic processes.

c)     Contribution to outreach, consultancy, or industry-academia linkages.

3. Professor (Mathematics)

Essential Qualifications:

a)     Ph.D. in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Statistics.

b)     Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent).

10 years of teaching/research experience

Research & Professional Requirements:

a)     A minimum of 10–15 high-quality publications in refereed/SCI/Scopus-indexed journals.

b)     Consistent record of academic leadership, such as Head of Department, Research Center Coordinator, or major funded project PI.

c)     Successful guidance of at least 2 Ph.D. scholars.

d)     Strong track record in research grants, consultancy, patents, or industry collaborations.

Other Expectations:

a)     Ability to lead departmental vision, strategy, and academic planning.

b)     Contribution to institution-building activities (accreditation, rankings, policy making).

c)     Mentoring of faculty and leadership in innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
