Assistant Procurement Manager

About The Role:

The candidate should have experience of strategic sourcing of Raw Materials in the Food & Beverages sector. The candidate should be proficient in tapping internal and external-data/intelligence to formulate and execute go-to-market strategies to achieve targeted COGS for the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• End-to-end procurement of raw materials at competitive rates
• Leverage market intelligence to determine go-to-market strategies
• Negotiate contracts with favourable terms for the business
• Proactively identify risks in the supply chain and ensure de-risking measures are executed
• Manage supplier relationships in a structured SRM framework
• Coordinate with the Innovation team to understand raw material requirements and develop supply sources
• Monitor and track supplier performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and service level agreements
• Analyse data to identify trends and improve procurement processes

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master's degree in a related field preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in similar roles

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Prior working experience in the procurement department in the food, beverage or nutrition industry
• Exposure to categories such as Dairy, Spices, Oleoresins, Flavours, Chemicals, Vitamins, Cocoa, Sugar, Coffee, Minerals, etc. will be added advantage
• Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends
• Strong knowledge of negotiation techniques
• Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport with internal and external stakeholders
• Good mathematical and analytical skills
• Positive and professional demeanor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
