About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager for Purchase to oversee and manage procurement activities specific to civil construction and interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring high-quality electrical, civil, and interior materials while ensuring cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and adherence to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and subcontractors for electrical, civil, and interior fit-out materials.
  • Conduct technical and commercial negotiations to secure the best prices, payment terms, and quality.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring alignment with project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle from requisition to delivery, resolving any supply chain issues promptly.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and the finance department to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and legal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, price lists, and vendor databases.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential:

     Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Diploma in 

    Civil Engineering or Electrical & Electronics (EEE)

    .
  • Minimum 5 years

     of proven experience in purchase/procurement, specifically within the 

    Civil, Construction, or Interior Fit-out industry

    .
  • Must have hands-on experience in procuring materials for:

     Electrical items, Civil works, and Interior Fit-outs (FF&E).

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Non-Negotiable:

     Advanced proficiency in 

    MS Excel

     (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Data Analysis) for costing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Highly Preferred:

     Working knowledge of 

    SAP MM module

     or similar ERP systems for purchase order processing and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of materials, market trends, and quality standards in the construction sector.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and project BOQs (Bills of Quantities).
