Position Overview Seeking a proficient Chemical Process Safety Engineer to join our team, focusing on conducting process safety experiments and mitigating thermal process safety risks through data analysis. Technical Competencies Chemical Kinetics and Thermodynamics: Understanding reaction mechanisms and the principles of chemical kinetics. Applying thermodynamic principles to assess the stability and reactivity of chemical substances. Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry: Proficiency in operating and maintaining calorimetric instruments such as ARC (Accelerating Rate Calorimeter) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) etc. Interpreting data from thermal analyses to determine reaction kinetics, heat generation, and potential runaway reactions. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Conducting hazard identification and risk assessments using advanced calorimetric techniques. Evaluating process safety through calorimetric studies and determining safe operating limits. Analytical Competencies Data Interpretation: Analyzing experimental data to identify potential hazards and recommend safe operating parameters. Preparing detailed reports summarizing experimental findings and safety assessments. Problem-Solving: Identifying and mitigating thermal process safety risks during process optimization and scale-up. Developing safety protocols and recommendations based on experimental data. Technical Qualifications Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in process safety engineering, with hands-on experience in thermal analysis and calorimetry. Knowledge: Profound understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and reaction mechanisms. Proficiency in utilizing Calorimeter, ARC (Accelerating Rate Calorimeter), and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) instruments for chemical process hazard analysis, data interpretation, and report generation. Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
