As a Chemical Process Safety Engineer at BASF in India, your role will involve conducting process safety experiments and mitigating thermal process safety risks through data analysis. You will be part of a team dedicated to ensuring the safety and stability of chemical processes. Key Responsibilities: - Understanding reaction mechanisms and the principles of chemical kinetics to assess stability and reactivity of chemical substances. - Operating and maintaining calorimetric instruments such as ARC (Accelerating Rate Calorimeter) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter) for interpreting data and determining reaction kinetics. - Conducting hazard identification and risk assessments using advanced calorimetric techniques to evaluate process safety. - Analyzing experimental data to identify potential hazards, recommend safe operating parameters, and prepare detailed reports summarizing findings. - Identifying and mitigating thermal process safety risks during process optimization and scale-up, and developing safety protocols based on experimental data. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in process safety engineering, with hands-on experience in thermal analysis and calorimetry. - Profound understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and reaction mechanisms. - Proficiency in utilizing Calorimeter, ARC, and DSC instruments for hazard analysis, data interpretation, and report generation. - Exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills in English for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
