Position Title:
Job Purpose
Plan, implement, and drive effective asset management for wind power assets (typically 50 MW to 100 MW wind farms). The role is responsible for managing site-level Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities and ensuring compliance with O&M contracts, internal policies, and applicable industrial rules and regulations. The objective is to ensure smooth operations, optimal asset performance, and a strong culture of operational excellence at the site through effective coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Asset & Business Planning
- Support business planning by providing projected generation, revenue, and budget inputs for the wind asset, including O&M, manpower, statutory fees, and other operational costs.
- Track asset performance against approved budgets and business plans and provide periodic updates to management.
- Stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies in wind asset management and recommend feasible improvements.
Operations & Asset Management
- Plan and execute asset management activities including performance monitoring, availability management, HSSE compliance, and knowledge management as per defined guidelines.
- Ensure smooth site operations in line with contractual obligations and operational standards.
- Coordinate with OEMs/O&M partners to ensure machine availability and adherence to O&M contract terms.
- Ensure proper training of site personnel and contractors on operating procedures and SOPs.
Performance Monitoring
- Monitor wind asset performance to meet business plan targets, including availability guarantees (typically 96.5% or higher).
- Ensure preventive maintenance adherence of 99%, avoiding pendency of safety-critical or availability-critical actions.
- Prepare annual maintenance plans for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) and Balance of Plant (BOP).
- Carry out day-ahead planning for manpower deployment and contractor activities.
- Conduct periodic (fortnightly) performance review meetings with O&M partners.
- Provide performance forecasts and inputs for business plan revisions as required.
- Maintain a structured repository of asset documents including contracts, invoices, land records, and compliance documents for audit readiness.
HSSE Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies and statutory norms.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses within defined timelines and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Highlight and escalate any HSSE non-compliance to relevant stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain effective relationships with distribution companies, government bodies, and local authorities to ensure timely billing and revenue realization.
- Coordinate community engagement activities in collaboration with corporate CSR and local administrative teams.
- Maintain effective working relationships with OEMs, O&M contractors, and service providers.
Administrative & Material Management
- Provide site-level administrative oversight and people management support.
- Monitor material consumption and ensure timely requisition when inventory reaches reordering levels.
- Ensure physical verification of materials and timely creation of material reservations.
Quality & Audit
- Conduct random quality audits, including inspection of a defined percentage of wind turbines post preventive maintenance to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure timely statutory payments, approvals of O&M invoices, and accurate operational data entry in relevant systems and compliance portals.
- Ensure timely submission of operational and performance reports and maintain proper documentation.
Decision-Making Authority
- Decisions and approvals as per defined authority and approval matrix within approved budgets.

- Finance and Commercial teams for billing, invoicing, and budget-related matters.
External:
- Distribution companies for revenue realization.
- Government authorities, local bodies, and statutory agencies for compliance.
- O&M contractors and OEM partners for site operations.
Skills & Knowledge
Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering (Full-time)
Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of wind farm operations and O&M processes
- Knowledge of wind resource assessment and performance analysis
- Understanding of regulatory and contractual frameworks
- Commercial and financial awareness of renewable energy operations
- Strong coordination and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of SCADA and performance monitoring tools
Experience
- 7–8 years of total experience
- Hands-on experience in supervising and managing O&M of wind power plants
