Role Overview:

Assistant Manager Mortgage will lead a high-performing sales team while personally driving key business relationships and closures. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong operational acumen and hands-on field expertise in retail mortgage sales. The candidate will be responsible for achieving business targets, expanding the partner network, and ensuring end-to-end loan processing excellence across the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute robust sales strategies to achieve Home Loan and LAP business targets.
  • Identify new markets, business segments, and partnership opportunities to expand footprint and profitability.

2. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of Relationship Managers and Sales Executives to deliver consistent results.
  • Set clear performance goals, monitor KPIs, and ensure accountability through regular reviews and field engagement.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture through mentorship, feedback, and skill enhancement programs.
  • Sales Execution & Relationship Management
  • Personally source and acquire high-value Home Loan / LAP customers through DSAs, builders, connectors, and direct channels.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with channel partners, DSAs, and real estate networks to ensure a steady lead pipeline.
  • Guide the team in customer acquisition, loan advisory, and documentation to ensure smooth loan processing and superior customer experience.

4. Operations, Compliance & Coordination

  • Oversee end-to-end loan processing from sourcing, login, and verification to sanction and disbursement.
  • Ensure adherence to credit policies, documentation standards, and compliance norms of partnered Banks/NBFCs.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, operations, and finance teams for faster turnaround and improved approval ratios.
  • Maintain high-quality MIS, analyse performance metrics, and provide strategic insights for continuous improvement.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily sales activity, pipeline movement, and closure efficiency across the team.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine sales tactics.
  • Present periodic business reviews, revenue forecasts, and payout achievement reports to senior management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership with a balance of strategic vision and field execution.
  • Deep understanding of Home Loan / LAP products, credit appraisal, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain a high-performing sales ecosystem.
  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in MS Excel, CRM, and reporting systems.
  • Strong local market knowledge and established channel partner network.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA or equivalent preferred)
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience in Home Loan / LAP sales, with at least 2-3 years in a team leadership capacity.

Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly disbursement targets.
  • Team productivity and lead-to-disbursal conversion ratios.
  • Channel partner activation and retention metrics.
  • Compliance adherence and portfolio quality.
  • Customer satisfaction and referral business generation.
