Assistant Manager- LCV

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet Operations Management

• Manage day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring on-time deployment and smooth delivery operations.
  
• Monitor vehicle movement, utilization, and productivity using GPS/tracking systems.
  
• Ensure optimal route planning and timely resolution of operational issues.
  

2. Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance

• Plan and execute preventive and scheduled maintenance for all vehicles.
  
• Maintain all necessary documentation including insurance, permits, fitness certificates, PUC, and RC.
  
• Ensure compliance with RTO and transportation regulations.
  

3. Driver Management

• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and training of drivers and delivery partners.
  
• Monitor driver performance, attendance, and adherence to safety protocols.
  
• Address driver-related escalations and ensure high standards of behavior and discipline.
  

4. Cost Control & Fuel Management

• Track fuel consumption and mileage, ensuring cost optimization.
  
• Identify and prevent fuel pilferage and misuse.
  
• Analyze fleet operating costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  

5. Vendor & Partner Coordination

• Manage rental vehicle vendors, workshops, service providers, and parts suppliers.
  
• Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements.
  
• Evaluate vendor performance to ensure operational reliability.
  

6. Safety & Incident Management

• Conduct regular safety checks, vehicle audits, and driver safety training.
  
• Handle breakdowns, accidents, and insurance claim processes.
  
• Ensure risk mitigation across all fleet operations.
  

7. Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on fleet performance, utilization, fuel cost, breakdowns, and availability.
  
• Provide data-driven insights to leadership for continuous improvement.
  

Requirements

• Graduate in any discipline; preference for candidates with logistics/operations background.
  
• 36 years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations.
  
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, operational metrics, and budgeting.
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel, tracking tools, and fleet management software.
  
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
