Assistant Manager ESG

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESG Manager to lead and play a strategic role

in guiding environmental impact assessments and supporting project development efforts for

Hygenco’s renewable energy & Green Hydrogen projects. From solar farms to energy transmission

infrastructure and Green Hydrogen Project execution, your expertise will help accelerate

sustainable progress across India.

Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders, shaping projects that balance

development and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA) and related studies for renewable

energy and Green Hydrogen projects.

• Manage permitting and regulatory compliance related to ESG for projects in the renewable

energy and gas sectors.

• Oversee the preparation and review of:

- Permitting documentation

- Environmental and social review reports

- Discipline-specific studies (e.g., biological, cultural, noise, decommissioning plans)

• Develop and implement permitting strategies, including due diligence, risk identification,

and mitigation planning.

• Ensure quality control and consistency across all ESG and impact assessment deliverables.

• Engage and coordinate with clients, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders, leading

meetings and presentations as needed.

• Provide strategic ESG insights to optimise project design, layout, and implementation while

meeting regulatory and community expectations.

• Support internal teams (engineering, project development, legal, etc.) with ESG guidance

throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Planning,

Geography, or a related discipline; or 8+ years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated experience with state and local permitting processes, including preparation

of permit applications for renewable energy or gas projects.

• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, zoning laws, and permitting procedures.

• Proven technical writing and analytical abilities, with experience presenting findings to

clients and regulatory agencies.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, delivering high-quality outputs on time

and within budget.

• Experience with renewable energy projects; exposure to hydrogen production facilities or

related infrastructure is an advantage.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in local land use permitting processes.

• Familiarity with requirements from municipalities and counties (e.g., buffer widths,

vegetative screening, noise analyses, water quality monitoring, stormwater review criteria).

• Experience optimising project layouts based on local permitting requirements.

• GIS proficiency and ability to interpret maps and environmental data.
