Job Description

Assistant Manager– Electrical DC


Key Responsibilities:


DC Electrical Execution:


  • Manage and manage execution of all DC works including PV module stringing, DC cabling, combiner boxes, junction boxes, and interconnections with inverter stations.
  • Validate string designs, layouts, and cable sizing against engineering drawings and site conditions.
  • Oversee installation, megger testing, IV curve tracing, and pre-commissioning checks for DC systems.
  • Ensure reliable integration of DC side infrastructure with AC systems and SCADA.
  • Monitor progress to align DC works with overall construction and commissioning schedule.


Quality & Compliance:


  • Implement robust QA/QC processes, ITPs, and method statements for DC electrical scope.
  • Conduct inspections for module mounting earthing/grounding, crimping, terminations, polarity checks, insulation resistance, and string testing.
  • Enforce compliance with IEC, IS, IEEE, NEC, and OEM guidelines.
  • Drive non-conformance identification, closure, and preventive measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, handover, and warranty compliance.


Project Management & Controls:


  • Track schedule, budget, and productivity KPIs for DC execution.
  • Ensure timely availability of modules, DC cables, connectors, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Identify risks such as module damage, cabling errors, or testing delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports, dashboards, and compliance updates for management.


Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:


  • Lead, mentor, and monitor site engineers, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Act as the primary interface with EPC contractors, consultants, and OEMs for DC-side execution.
  • Collaborate with AC, civil, and commissioning teams to ensure synchronized project delivery.
  • Promote a culture of zero-defect, safety-first, and accountability at site.


Key Skills & Competencies:


  • Strong technical expertise in DC electrical systems for utility-scale solar PV plants.
  • Proven knowledge of PV modules, string design, cabling practices, combiner boxes, and DC testing.
  • Familiarity with standards (IEC/IS/IEEE/NEC) and industry best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in QA/QC, testing protocols, and defect management.
  • Effective leadership, contractor management, and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera, MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC

    documentation tools.


Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in

    Electrical Engineering.

  • 7+ years of DC electrical execution experience, with at least 5+ years in solar PV/EPC projects.

  • Proven track record of managing DC scope for utility-scale solar PV plants (50 MW and above).

  • Experience in working with EPC contractors, IPPs, and solar OEMs.
