Assistant Manager – Data Privacy
Location: Electronic city - Bangalore
Education Qualification: LL.B./LL.M. or Certified Data Privacy Professional
Experience Required: 1–5 years (recommended)
Key Responsibilities
Own and continuously review the group’s global data protection compliance requirements across all entities.
Update and maintain policies, guidance, and centralized processes; put in place robust, time-bound remedial plans where necessary.
Support in developing and maintaining internal global data privacy policies and training programs.
Conduct compliance reviews of internal and external applications, both domestic and international.
Perform DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessments), RoPA (Records of Processing Activities), and contract management; monitor implementation across systems and processes.
Advise group entities on GDPR, UK GDPR, nFADP, Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and other regulations, liaising with local experts when required.
Collaborate with business areas, particularly IT Security, to ensure privacy considerations are built into projects and initiatives.
Act as liaison to the Company’s Global Council on domestic and global data privacy issues.
Support in managing the group’s data privacy technology and network across entities.
Handle enquiries and requests related to data subject rights (withdrawal of consent, right to be forgotten, etc.).
Monitor privacy trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry to maintain compliance leadership.
Support in conducting systematic compliance audits, ensuring findings are reported and acted upon.
Required Qualifications
LL.B./LL.M. qualified lawyer or certified data privacy professional with strong academic credentials.
Certifications such as CIPP, DCPP, CIPM, DCPLA are preferred.
Strong knowledge of global and European data protection laws, including GDPR and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Experience managing data privacy issues in a global organization.
Capability to conduct privacy compliance reviews.
Strong analytical skills to review and organize documentation and evidence.
Ability to develop and deliver awareness and communication across all levels of the organization.
