1. Core Library & Information Management Skills:

• Cataloguing & Classification

  : Knowledge of DDC, UDC, LCC, or similar systems.

• Library Management Systems (LMS/ILS)

  : Hands-on experience with software like Koha, LibSys, or SOUL.

• Digital Resource Management

  : Handling e-books, e-journals, online databases (EBSCO, ProQuest, JSTOR, Emerald, etc.).

• Collection Development

  : Identifying, acquiring, and maintaining physical & digital resources relevant to management studies.

• Reference & Information Services

  : Supporting faculty and students with academic/research queries.

• Digitization Projects

  : Scanning, indexing, and archiving materials.

• Basic IT Skills

  : MS Office, data handling, troubleshooting minor tech issues.

  : Clear verbal and written communication with faculty, students, and vendors.

  : Helping new students/faculty adapt to library systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Administer & Control the Library Functions and Related Library Services:

o To organize collections of books, publications, documents, audiovisual aids, and other reference materials for convenient access.

o Manage the acquisitions of new materials                                     

o Classify, and catalogue books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems.

o Provide circulation service through library management system

o Chasing and collecting books back and enforcing fines

o Maintain library inventory

o To keep records of circulation and materials

o Ensuring that Library Services meet the needs of particular Groups of Users (eg: staff, students)

o Looking after and updating electronic resources.

o Supporting independent research and learning.

o Assisting readers to use computer equipment, conduct literature searches etc

o Promoting the library's resources to users

o Assist to find reference materials and leisure reading materials to user

Proper Maintenance & Display of the Library Resource:

oMaintaining a quiet environment

o Keeping the library organized and tidy 

o Maintain Library Ergonomics

o Displaying new stock                                                                                                                                           

Provide Support to Users (Students, Staff) on Search Strategies:

o Supporting independent research and learning

o Assisting readers to use computer equipment, conduct literature searches etc

o Promoting the library's resources to users

o Assist to find reference materials and leisure reading materials to user

o Locate unusual or unique information in response to specific requests

Liaison with External Agencies like - Ala, EBSCO, NDL Publisher, EBSCO Supplier E-resource collection from various source

o Journal Circulation

o Provide assistance to Student Administration ( Registrar ) on requirement.

o Up-dation of Notice board with Event photographs

o Extending Games Instrument support to students through proper system, games inventory management.
