Role & responsibilities
Role Overview
Responsible for overseeing all financial activities and reporting for Patra India, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role acts as a financial leader, partnering with business unit management to drive performance, manage risk, and support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for timely, accurate, and routine delivery of the India financial statements, including local India books
- Manage and oversee all financial operations for the business unit, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and reports to senior management.
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements (USGAAP, IGAAP, India Companies Act, etc.).
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with Internal Audit as well as statutory auditors and manage internal/external audit processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight and support business initiatives.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff within the business unit.
- Coordinate with Shared Service Centers (SSC) and other business units to ensure alignment with global accounting objectives.
- Develop and monitor KPIs relevant to the business unit and finance operations.
- Take ownership of and ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, including coordination of audit, tax filings, etc.
- Supervise successful completion of projects such as system implementations, global audits, and ad hoc initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or controller role.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
