Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Equipment and Services Procurement

Stakeholder Support

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Proactively coordinate with teams to obtain necessary inputs for order creation and management.
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by delivering high-quality, consistent support and communication.

Procurement Activities

  • Review Purchase Requisition (PR) documents and float RFQs to relevant vendors.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering department for technical evaluations of vendor offers.
  • Prepare commercial comparisons, conduct negotiations, and manage PO (Purchase Order) and WO (Work Order) placement.
  • Drive cost optimization through detailed cost analysis and price benchmarking.
  • Manage post-order activities including PO tracking, delivery follow-ups, and vendor communication.
  • Lead vendor development and relationship management to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance.
  • Partner with vendors to handle new and variation orders, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and MIS for all procurement activities.
  • Ensure smooth Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, including timely goods receipt, service confirmation, and payment follow-ups.
  • Escalate and resolve procurement-related issues in coordination with internal stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion initiatives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost management with vendors.
  • Stay updated with the latest market trends, technologies, and supplier innovations.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience:

    7 to 10 years in procurement of

    Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)

    equipment and services, preferably in

    EPC or project-based industries

    .
  • Education:

    B.E./B.Tech in

    Electrical

    or

    Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering

    from a recognized institution.
  • Strong understanding of

    procurement processes, commercial evaluation, and vendor management

    in an engineering/project environment.
  • Proven ability to handle

    end-to-end procurement activities

    from RFQ to PO/WO closure and payment follow-up.
  • Hands-on experience with

    ERP systems (SAP / Oracle or equivalent)

    and

    MS Office tools

    .
  • Excellent

    negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

    .
  • Sound knowledge of

    industry best practices

    , latest trends, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with

    engineering, project, and finance teams

    .
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage

    multiple priorities

    in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to

    vendor development

    , supplier evaluation, and long-term relationship management.
