Job Description

Role & responsibilities-

Position Objective:

To support and ensure comprehensive statutory compliance across all sites and business units under SMC Integrated Facility Management, including effective liaison with government departments and management of labour-related legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Statutory Compliance Management

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements under applicable labour laws (PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, CLRA, etc.).
  • Maintain and update statutory registers, records, and licenses at all sites.
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and payment of contributions.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure 100% compliance across locations.

2. Liaison with Government Authorities

  • Coordinate and maintain effective liaison with Labour Department, PF, ESI, Factory Inspectorate, and other statutory bodies.
  • Handle inspections, audits, and correspondence with authorities in a professional and timely manner.
  • Represent the company in meetings and discussions with government officials as required.

3. Legal & Labour Court Matters

  • Assist in managing labour disputes, notices, and legal cases related to employment matters.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel for filing responses, documentation, and case follow-up in labour courts and tribunals.
  • Maintain updated records of all ongoing and closed legal matters.
  • Support in drafting replies to legal notices and compliance queries.

4. Vendor & Contractor Compliance

  • Review and verify compliance status of contractors and manpower vendors.
  • Maintain compliance checklists, challans, and registers for all outsourced personnel.
  • Ensure vendors submit all statutory documents before processing invoices.

5. MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare and circulate monthly compliance status reports to management.
  • Highlight gaps or non-compliance cases and follow up for closure.
  • Maintain compliance dashboard and documentation repository.

6. Policy & Training

  • Support the development and implementation of compliance SOPs and policies.
  • Conduct awareness and training programs for site HR/Admin on statutory compliance and legal updates.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education:

    Graduate / Post Graduate in HR, Law, or Commerce (preferred: PG Diploma in Labour Laws or Industrial Relations).
  • Experience:

    36 years of experience in statutory compliance, labour law liaison, and case handling, preferably in facility management or service industry.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, compliance tracking tools, and ERP/HRMS systems.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant labour and industrial laws.
