Job Title: Area Sales Manager General Trade (FMCG) Job Location: Kolkata (West Bengal) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead and drive our sales efforts in the General Trade channel. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing distributors and sales teams, and expanding our market presence within the assigned territory. Detailed Responsibilities: Sales Management: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets. Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions where necessary. Ensure timely collection of payments from distributors and retailers. Market Expansion: Identify new business opportunities and potential markets within the assigned area. Conduct market analysis to understand consumer needs and trends. Expand the distribution network by appointing new distributors and retailers. Distributor & Retailer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key retailers. Ensure distributors adhere to company policies and guidelines. Provide training and support to distributor sales teams to enhance their performance. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and team targets. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. Organize training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales skills. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and submit regular sales reports to the Regional Sales Manager. Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Develop and present action plans to address sales challenges. Promotional Activities: Plan and execute promotional activities to boost sales and brand visibility. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement local marketing campaigns. Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities and suggest improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales team. Strong understanding of the general trade channel and distribution network. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in MS Office and sales management software. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area. Preferred Attributes: Experience in haircare, skincare, or personal care products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
