Area Sales Manager

Role Objective

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving topline growth, market penetration, and operational excellence across Maharashtra. This strategic role demands a seasoned sales leader with deep market understanding, strong channel management capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering results through high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Planning

• Develop and implement territory-specific sales strategies aligned with national objectives
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities
• Forecast sales volumes and set quarterly and annual targets for the region

Channel & Distribution Management

• Build, manage, and optimize distribution networks across urban and rural markets
• Ensure effective coverage through retail, wholesale, and modern trade channels
• Negotiate and onboard new channel partners, ensuring compliance with company standards

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, train, and mentor Territory Sales Officers and Field Executives
• Conduct regular performance reviews and implement development plans
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Operational Excellence

• Monitor and ensure timely execution of trade promotions, schemes, and product launches
• Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure product availability and inventory health
• Ensure adherence to pricing policies, credit norms, and statutory compliance

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers, distributors, and institutional clients
• Represent the company at trade events, exhibitions, and industry forums
• Provide market feedback to cross-functional teams for product and service enhancements
