Job Description

🔹 Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to lead and manage a team of Sales Executives across designated territories in Chennai. The ASM will be responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding customer base, ensuring timely collections, and driving overall business growth in the grocery supply chain segment. 🔹 Key Responsibilities Lead, train, and manage a team of Sales Executives to achieve monthly sales and collection targets. Develop and implement sales strategies to onboard new kirana stores, wholesalers, and HoReCa clients. Ensure timely collections from customers and maintain strong credit discipline in the market. Monitor sales performance and market activities on a daily/weekly basis. Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and major B2B customers. Conduct market visits with sales team members to support and guide them. Provide market intelligence on pricing, competition, and customer demand. Coordinate with the logistics and accounts team for smooth operations. Prepare and present MIS reports (sales, collections, new customer additions, territory growth). 🔹 Skills & Requirements Qualification: Graduate / MBA (preferred, not mandatory). Experience: 4–8 years in FMCG / grocery / distribution sales, with at least 2 years in a team-lead/ASM role. Strong leadership and people management skills. Deep understanding of Chennai kirana / HoReCa market. Ability to work under pressure and deliver targets. Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and mobile sales apps. 🔹 Growth Path ASM → Regional Sales Manager (RSM) → Sales Head
