Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Sales Officers / Sales Representatives

The ideal candidate should have strong market understanding, team management capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering results in General Trade.

Key Responsibilities-

1. Sales Strategy & Execution

• Implement and execute sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets in the assigned area.
  
• Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities and areas of improvement.
  

2. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, guide, and motivate a team of

  Sales Officers / Sales Representatives

  to ensure effective market execution.
• Set clear performance goals, provide coaching, and conduct periodic performance reviews.
  

3. Distributor & Channel Management

• Manage and strengthen relationships with distributors, retailers, and key channel partners.
  
• Ensure distributor ROI, inventory planning, claims management, and adherence to company norms.
  

4. Execution & Visibility

• Ensure on-ground implementation of brand visibility, promotional activities, and market campaigns.
  
• Monitor product placement, availability, pricing, and display across outlets.
  

5. Sales Performance Tracking

• Track and analyse sales performance metrics such as sales volume, revenue, outlet coverage, and productivity.
  
• Share periodic reports and business reviews with the Regional Sales Manager.
  

6. Market Expansion & New Opportunities

• Identify potential new markets, outlets, and channel partners to improve penetration and market share.
  
• Work with the marketing and trade activation teams to plan and execute local promotions.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate / MBA in Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  

• 510 years

  of General Trade sales experience, preferably in FMCG/FMCD/Consumer Healthcare.
• Strong distributor management and team-handling skills.
  
• Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
