An Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for overseeing sales operations within a specific geographic area, ensuring achievement of sales targets, market expansion, and effective team management. The role involves planning, strategizing, and executing sales activities to maximize revenue and enhance brand presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
Manage, guide, and motivate a team of Sales Executives / Sales Officers.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase market share.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Ensure proper execution of promotional activities and trade marketing plans.
Build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key customers.
Track sales performance through regular reporting and field visits.
Ensure product availability, visibility, and merchandising in the market.
Conduct training sessions for the sales team to improve skills and productivity.
Address customer queries, resolve issues, and maintain high service standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG/Pharma/Consumer durables (can be customized).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic decisions.
Good interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
