Why this role matters

0→1 leadership role

From sketching early concepts to prototyping, standardising, and eventually scaling - you’ll own the design and development of a product line that could define the next phase of Crystal’s journey.

What you’ll own

• Design and develop modular container products: form, structure, and function
• Prototype and test variations: food labs, farm pods, office cabins, kiosks, and more
• Work hands-on with fabrication teams, vendors, and cold chain engineers
• Build design systems: materials, insulation, electrical, drainage, finishing
• Drive standardization for repeatable, scalable production
• Interface with clients and internal teams to iterate based on real-world usage
• Lay the foundation for a design and product team as we grow

What we’re looking for

Must have:

• 3 - 5 years of experience in architecture, industrial design, or prefab projects
• Strong portfolio of container-based or modular designs
• Ability to go from rough sketch to build-ready output
• Experience working closely with fabricators or in-house production
• Comfort in ambiguity - knows how to build from scratch
• Strong practical sense: cost, compliance, transport, site-readiness

Nice to have:

• Work in relevant spaces: F&B infra, agri-tech, portable clinics, retail, or D2C
• Passion for sustainable or off-grid design
• Familiarity with tools like Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, BIM
• Some experience leading a small team or mentoring juniors
