HP NonStop Applications Engineer

with deep technical expertise in HP NonStop systems and enterprise COBOL development. This role focuses on designing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical applications running on high-availability transactional platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with HPNS tools, utilities, database environments, and scripting required to ensure robust performance, stability, and scalability.

What You Will Do

Develop, enhance, and maintain applications hosted on HP NonStop systems to support real-time, high-volume transactional workloads.Work with COBOL on HPNS environments to build reliable, optimized, and secure application components.Manage and operate core HP NonStop utilities including FUP, Inspect, and Pathway components to support system operations.Utilize Enscribe database environments and apply OLTP concepts for performance optimization and efficient transaction processing.Build and automate operational scripts using TACL and associated scripting tools.Troubleshoot production issues, analyze system behavior, and implement fixes and performance improvements.Collaborate closely with infrastructure, operations, and product teams to ensure smooth deployment and stable system performance.Ensure system reliability through best practices in monitoring, tuning, and resource utilization.

Required Experience & Expertise

Strong demonstrable experience working with

HP NonStop (Tandem) systems

.Solid development background in

COBOL within HPNS environments

.Proficiency in HP NonStop utilities and tools such as

FUP, Inspect, Pathway

, and related operational components.Working knowledge of

Enscribe database

and

OLTP processing

.Experience with

TACL scripting

for automation and system task management.Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex application and performance issues.
