About The Role
We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join our DESRI group, based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind and solar energy projects in an agile environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.
What You Will Do
As an Energy Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing market scheduling, implementing FTR strategies, streamlining reporting of KPIs, and conducting DART and Basis Analysis. The role requires an understanding of the U.S. energy market landscape, with exposure to MISO, ERCOT, SPP, PJM, and CAISO. You will conduct daily analysis of transmission topology, outages, and other factors to optimize energy bidding and dispatch in the day ahead market. You will be expected to monitor market trends and changes to optimize scheduling processes; this will include analysis of market data and identification of opportunities and risks associated with scheduling decisions. You will be responsible for the automation and deployment of software tools to support daily scheduling efforts and internal reporting. You will support portfolio wide efforts to register and maintain compliance with ISOs. You will maintain a thorough understanding of the U.S. energy market dynamics, including regulatory frameworks, market structures, and power purchase agreement settlement mechanics.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate should hold- Basic qualifications:
- 3-10 years’ experience in US energy markets
- Knowledge of market scheduling processes, market rules and energy market fundamentals in at least two major US ISOs
- Familiarity with trading-related software tools - i.e. Dayzer, Enverus/Panorama, or related softwares.
- Prior experience in solar, storage or wind preferred. However any energy-related field is acceptable.
- Effective written and spoken communication skills, along with an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with teams across US and Hyderabad offices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to program (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar) is preferred, with experience supporting large-scale data analysis, automation, and tool development.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools
- Knowledge of market scheduling processes, SCED analysis, and energy market fundamentals
- Effective written and spoken communication skills, along with an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with various teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in US energy market analysis
- Prior experience in the renewable space (solar or wind) or any energy-related field
