Healthcare — Hospital and Clinical Services (multispecialty surgical & inpatient care). We are recruiting an on-site Consultant Anaesthesiologist to support perioperative, critical-care and pain-management services at a busy surgical centre in Sangli-Jath, Maharashtra, India.

Role & Title

Consultant Anaesthesiologist (MD/DNB) — On-site

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgeries across specialties — plan, induce, maintain and reverse anaesthesia with attention to patient safety and fast recovery.
  • Perform comprehensive preoperative assessment and optimisation (ASA classification), obtain informed consent, and communicate perioperative risks and plans to patients and surgical teams.
  • Administer general, spinal/epidural and peripheral regional anaesthesia; perform ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and manage difficult airway scenarios including advanced airway interventions.
  • Manage intraoperative haemodynamics, ventilator settings and monitoring (ECG, NIBP/IBP, SpO2, EtCO2), administer blood products and vasoactive drugs as required.
  • Provide postoperative care—acute pain management, recovery-room handover, ICU-level support and ventilator management when needed; implement multimodal analgesia and protocols to reduce complications.
  • Participate in on-call rotas, emergency resuscitation (code blue), clinical audits, protocol development and training/mentoring of junior staff—maintain accurate clinical records and compliance with safety/infection-control protocols.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must-Have
    • MBBS with MD/DNB in Anaesthesia and valid registration with the State Medical Council/Medical Council of India.
    • Proven competence in airway management, anaesthetic drug administration, intraoperative monitoring and perioperative decision-making; current BLS/ACLS certification.
    • Willingness to work on-site in Sangli-Jath and participate in an on-call roster; excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-safety focus.
  • Preferred
    • Experience with ultrasound-guided regional nerve blocks, neuraxial analgesia and perioperative pain services.
    • Prior ICU experience or training in critical care; familiarity with ventilator management for postoperative and critically ill patients.
    • Experience in a multispecialty hospital, involvement in clinical audits, teaching or quality-improvement initiatives.
