The Alumni Relations Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining meaningful engagement with the institution’s alumni community. This includes organizing events, expanding global alumni networks, managing communication channels and facilitating alumni-driven mentorship, fundraising and institutional partnerships. The role is outcome-focused, aiming to increase alumni participation, visibility and contributions toward SSN’s strategic goals.
· Maintain an updated alumni database of over 22,000 contacts with at least 95% accuracy.
· Implement targeted engagement strategies to increase alumni participation in institutional programs by 30% annually.
· Establish and actively manage both regional chapters and international affinity groups.
· Collaborate closely with the SSN Alumni Association to align initiatives, enhance alumni involvement and support association-driven programs.
· Coordinate with both regional and international alumni chapters for localized engagement and events.
· Set up a structured alumni recognition program to acknowledge outstanding achievements.
· Plan and execute a calendar of alumni events annually, including reunions, networking meets, guest lectures and industry roundtables.
· Organize virtual events and webinars to boost digital engagement.
· Drive 25–30% year-over-year growth in event attendance through strategic outreach and personalized invitations.
· Curate and publish a quarterly alumni newsletter with an open rate exceeding 40%, aiming for continued growth in cross-platform engagement.
· Manage the alumni section of the institution’s website, ensuring up-to-date content and success stories.
· Maintain an active social media presence with a goal to grow followers by 25% annually and achieve an average post engagement rate of 5% or higher.
· Launch and manage an annual alumni impact report highlighting outreach, support initiatives and key alumni contributions.
· Assist in executing fundraising campaigns targeting alumni for scholarships, infrastructure and innovation funds.
· Engage at least 100 new donors annually to support alumni-led fundraising initiatives.
· Identify and onboard alumni entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and industry experts for strategic mentorship and CSR collaborations.
· Liaise with academic departments to involve alumni as guest speakers, evaluators and curriculum advisors.
· Partner with the Career Development Centre to facilitate over 50 alumni–student interactions annually for internships, placements and mentoring.
· Collaborate with the Admissions and Marketing teams to showcase alumni outcomes in institutional outreach campaigns.
· Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations or a related field.
· Consistent academic performance of at least 75% (or equivalent) throughout the academic history, with no gap years.
· At least 3 years of experience in alumni relations or 6 years in stakeholder engagement, communications or fundraising with no break in service.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in English and Tamil; knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.
· Proficient in CRM systems, email campaign tools, event management software and social media analytics.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet tight deadlines.
· Passion for community building and institutional development.
· Prior experience in educational institutions or non-profit organizations is preferred.
