Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an AGM – Technical Design (Cables & Wires) at Torrent Electricals Limited, located in Nadiad. The role involves overseeing the technical design processes for cables and wires, managing project timelines, collaborating with R&D for product development, and leading a team to ensure the successful execution of design projects. Additionally, the AGM will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet industry standards and regulations, and driving innovation within the technical design team.

Lead the Cable Design department to develop and optimize wire and cable products aligned with market needs and industry standards. Drive innovation, ensure technical excellence, and support cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions for tenders, manufacturing, and customer requirements.

• Lead and manage the Cable Design department, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Oversee the design and development of LT, HT, EHV, and instrumentation cables.
• Approve GTPs, CSDs, and technical documentation for tenders and client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Indian and international standards (IS, IEC, BS, ASTM etc.).
• Provide technical support to Marketing, Sales, Production, and Quality teams.
• Collaborate with ERP/SAP teams for design data integration and code generation.
• Drive innovation in cable design, materials, and cost optimization.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices to enhance design strategies.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets (CAPEX/OPEX).
• Support ISO documentation, audits, and compliance for design activities.
• Mentor and develop team members to build technical leadership capabilities.
  

• 15+ years of experience in cable design and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in LT, HT, EHV, and instrumentation cable design, including tender evaluation and lifecycle management.
