We're enjoying unrivaled success as a formidable disruptor in the paid online search advertising industry.We are building a custom browser based on the Chromium open-source project (Search GPT Browser). The goal is to rebrand Chromium with our own name, UI, search engine integration, and security/privacy customizations. We are looking for a skilled Chromium Developer to join our team and own the build, customization, and release process.
Key Skills
C++ / Browser Forking, UI strings, Chromium/Blink/WebKit, Browser Internals, GRD/XTB, GIT, Visual Studio 2022/Clang/ SDKs.
Shift Timing
: 9 : 30 AM to 6 : 30 PM IST
Key Responsibilities
- Fork and maintain the Chromium source code for Windows (and later Linux/macOS).
- Design and implement scalable backend systems.
- Implement branding changes
- Modify UI strings (.grd, .xtb, .grdp).
- Replace icons, logos, and default search engine settings.
- Customize internal pages (chrome : //settings, chrome : //history, etc.).
- Configure and optimize builds using GN/Ninja.
- Create installers (mini_installer.exe) for QA and client testing.
- Debug and resolve build errors across platforms (Windows primary, Linux/macOS nice-to-have).
- Collaborate with product team to implement new browser features (UI/UX improvements, custom menus, security settings).
- Maintain code repository (GitHub/GitLab) and provide documentation for builds.
Required Experience And Qualifications
- Strong C++ development experience (3+ years).
- Prior experience with Chromium, Blink, or WebKit projects (or strong willingness to dive deep).
- Knowledge of GN/Ninja build system and depot_tools workflow.
- Familiarity with Windows build environment (Visual Studio 2022, Clang, SDKs).
- Good understanding of browser internals : rendering, networking, settings, extensions.
- Experience with resource customization : GRD/XTB files, localization, and icons.
- Proficiency in Git (branching, patching, maintaining forks).
Nice To Have
- Experience in cross-platform builds (Linux/macOS).
- Understanding of V8 JavaScript engine and Blink rendering engine.
- Knowledge of security/privacy features in modern browsers.
- Experience automating builds and packaging with CI/CD pipelines.

- Good communication skills to coordinate with product and QA teams.
