About the Role

Bluesky Education is looking for a motivated and student-focused Academic Counsellor for our Kolkata office. The role involves guiding students through their study-abroad journey and helping them make informed academic choices.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel students on study-abroad opportunities across major destinations like the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia.

• Assess student profiles and recommend suitable courses, universities, and countries.

• Explain eligibility criteria, admission requirements, visa procedures, and financial expectations.

• Support students through application filling, documentation checks, SOP/LOR understanding, and submission timelines.

• Maintain consistent follow-ups with students and convert enquiries into admissions.

• Conduct one-to-one sessions, phone counselling, walk-in counselling, and virtual guidance.

• Assist in organising seminars, webinars, school visits, university interactions, and events.

• Maintain accurate data in CRM systems and track progress for each student.

• Collaborate closely with admissions, marketing, and operations teams.

• Build trust-based relationships with students and parents and resolve their queries promptly.

• Stay updated on global education trends, university updates, scholarships, and policy changes.

• Achieve monthly counselling and conversion targets with a professional and ethical approach.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in academic counselling or the study-abroad sector

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to understand student aspirations and offer personalised guidance

• Good organisational, follow-up, and time-management skills

• Knowledge of study-abroad processes and basic CRM handling

• A positive, patient, and student-centric attitude
