Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Character Rigging Artist whose core focus is rigging (body + facial). You may use any 3D software you are comfortable with (Blender, Maya, ZBrush, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, etc.). What matters is your ability to build clean, production-ready rigs that bring characters to life with expressive, natural motion.

Responsibilities

• Build manual rigs and also work with auto-rig systems (tool of your choice).
• Create and organize blendshapes / morph targets for facial expressions and lip sync.
• Develop facial rigging setups to support custom expressions and phonemes.
• Ensure smooth deformations through weight painting and corrective shapes.
• Troubleshoot, refine, and optimize rigs for animation and real-time use.
• Export rigs cleanly (FBX/VRM or other formats) and maintain proper hierarchy/naming.
  

Must-have Skills

• Strong rigging fundamentals (IK/FK, controllers, constraints, deformation fixes).
• Hands-on experience with both manual and auto-rigging workflows.
• Proven work in blendshapes and facial rigging (expressions + phonemes).
• Ability to show clean deformations in elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, jaw, and eyes.
• Portfolio with screen recordings/demos of rigs in action.
  

Nice to have

• Knowledge of retargeting (e.g., Mixamo → custom rigs).
• Experience with VRM, FBX, or other real-time formats.
• Familiarity with motion capture cleanup.
  

Experience

• Beginner to Mid Level: 0.5–3+ years (internships/freelance accepted if portfolio is solid).
• Degree is optional; portfolio/demo is mandatory.
